PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR-JACKSON MILL
The Production Supervisor at our new Jackson Mills is a member of the plant leadership team and plays a crucial role in providing management and leadership to deliver business results and operational improvements. Through collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will prioritize team workload and drive continuous improvement at our Jackson Mill. In addition, as a shift supervisor, you will coach your team members in technical and behavioral competencies delivering high-impact business results.
This role will be trained on the day shift to start. The purpose of this role is to take over their shift eventually.
COMPENSATION: $90,000 - $110,000, based on experience.
SHIFTS: 10-hour daily shifts, some overtime required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES OF A PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR:
- Lead plant or shift production workers.
- Directs and coordinates activities associated with the department or shift production, including scheduling adequate staff to operate the line.
- Supervise all plant safety rules and regulations and provide safety orientation and training.
- Enforce compliance.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Employee development and annual performance reviews.
- Document incident, disciplinary action, and accident/injury reports when needed.
- Assist in developing job procedures.
- Inspect material for quality defects.
- Assist in the training of new team members. Develop a training plan for all production positions and ensure that employees are appropriately trained in any area that they are assigned.
REQUIREMENTS FOR A PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR:
- Education: High School diploma or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: 2-4 years of supervisory, management, or team lead experience.
Skills and Abilities which may be representative but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:
- Apply principles of logical thinking to define the problem, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Some relevant manufacturing experience.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and inspire your team and co-workers.
- Ability to troubleshoot processes and equipment.
- Computer literacy.
- Take the initiative to get things done.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
