Position Summary

The Production Supervisor, which will report to the Night/Production Manager, will be responsible for all shift operations. Specifically, the Production Supervisor will ensure that all tasks for each shift are completed, overseeing each shift employee and managing their daily responsibilities. The Production Supervisor position is a "working supervisor" position. It is expected that you work with your crew during each shift.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervisor should report to work 30 mins prior to shift start to do pre shift reports and get organized for the day.
  • Before your shift begins, you must walk the plant and complete the SSOP checklist.
  • Hold a brief shift meeting promptly at shift start time next to the time clock. Make it as detailed as possible to reduce the amount of confusion and questions throughout the shift.
  • Make sure you take the tasks supplied by management team and organize this in the most efficient and effective manner possible, considering your labor force.
  • During shift, supervisor should periodically walk the plant monitoring workflow and issues before they occur.
  • Supervisors should perform random quality control checks for all Graders/Packers and utility workers (box/crates weights, shell quality, size grade, etc.)
  • Accuracy of packing weights and paperwork is of the utmost importance to make sure the company operates at the most cost-efficient manner.
  • Organize the tank at the end of every shift.
  • Label checks, shift reports and inventory must be completed after every shift.
  • Communication with management and shift employees is vital to the success of the company.
  • Communicate any problems with equipment to maintenance so they can repair or replace equipment.
  • Directly work with production
  • This job is hands on
  • It’s the supervisor's job to ensure the facility is secure and locked. (If someone enters the facility who does not work here, it is your job to escort them out immediately)
  • Unless approved by management you will be present for all shifts.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (ERP system experience a plus).

Physical Requirements

  • Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
  • Must be able to team lift up to 100lbs
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
