JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Parent-Child Assistance Program (PCAP) Program Assistant

Group: F_Program Assistant

Supervised by: PCAP Program Manager

Starting Wage: $18.00 - $21.60


The Parent-Child Assistance Program (PCAP) is a 3-year intervention for high-risk women and their families. The PCAP Assistant performs a variety of tasks that support the Program Manager, Case Managers and the PCAP office. S/he will have contact with PCAP clients.


Primary responsibility includes, but are not limited to:

  • Work with PCAP Program Manager to coordinate outreach and special projects for PCAP.
  • Assists with PCAP file maintenance including quarterly file reviews.
  • Enters, maintains, and updates spreadsheets in an electronic database system.
  • Supports the PCAP Program Manager and Case Managers in preparation for appointments with clients for Intake/Exit interviews.
  • Assists the Program Manager with scheduling and obtaining resources for PCAP staff training development.
  • Compiles evaluation data and clinical documents for submission to the University of Washington Addiction Drug/Alcohol Institution (ADAI) office.
  • Composes and creates office correspondence, proofreads material, and provides correction for sentence structure, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Operates office equipment: computer, copy and fax machines.
  • Takes messages and connects clients with their case managers in a timely manner.
  • Receives and refers visitors with professional courtesy.

Qualifications: High school graduation or equivalent and 1+ years relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience working with high-risk populations would be an asset. Proficient with Email and Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, etc.). May be responsible for orientation and guidance regarding the work of others, excellent communication, prioritization skills, and self-initiation. Must pass a criminal background check.
