The East Central Health District is the lead agency entrusted by the people of the state of Georgia with the ultimate responsibility for the health of communities and the entire population.

The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Human Resources Generalist for general HR and recruiting responsibilities within the 13 counties of District 6.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide orientation and training (didactic and hands on) to nurses on Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommended vaccines.
  • Provide district staff and nurses with updates on immunization services in the district.
  • Collaborate with state office of nursing and state level programmatic coordinators to ensure information and communications are disseminated to all public health clinics in the district.
  • Resource person for nurses on immunization related questions.
  • Encourage integrated immunizations services with other public health programs, including WIC, Child Health, STD, and Women’s Health programs.
  • Collaborate with the Georgia Immunization Program to ensure information and communications are disseminated to all public health clinics in the district.
  • Promote the importance of immunizations within the clinics in the district and community partners, including CDC-recognized national campaigns, such as National Influenza Vaccination Week and participate in outreach events throughout the district.
  • Develop an annual Immunization Education Plan in conjunction with the district nurse training coordinator.
  • Perform immunization programmatic activities, including submitting monthly reports to the state and clinic nurse managers. Perform annual population study and scoliosis report.
  • Oversee Immunization budget and ensure responsible fiscal spending.
  • Participate in quarterly Georgia Immunization Program meetings and the District QA/QI and Nurse Managers’ meetings. Hypertension/Diabetes Coordinator
  • Collaborate with the Georgia Department of Public Health’s (GADPH) state Hypertension and Diabetes Nurse Program Manager about updates to the program or protocols
  • Provide district staff and nurses updates on Hypertension and Diabetes services.
  • Participate in any HTN ort Diabetes Program meetings and the District QA/QI and Nurse Manager’s meetings.
  • Develop an annual work plan for the Hypertension and Diabetes program.
  • Promote the importance of Hypertension and Diabetes prevention and control within the clinics in the district and community partners, including national campaigns, and participate in outreach events throughout the district.
  • Perform Hypertension and Diabetes programmatic activities, including submitting quarterly and annual reports to the state.
  • Oversee Hypertension and Diabetes budget and ensure responsible fiscal spending. PHERN
  • Functions as a clinical team member seeing clients or providing training within nursing protocols at the Richmond County Health Department(s). This will include providing relief staffing to cover nurse absences such as annual leave or extended leave for illness.
  • Provide Implant insertions to clients at clinics across the district that do not have or have limited staff available to provide this service (will be required to be trained to provide this service if not already trained).

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in nursing, public health or related field from an accredited college or university AND three years of public health nursing experience AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certified OR Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND three years of public health nursing experience, including fully ERN trained AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certified OR Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND completion of BSN level assessment class AND three years of public health nursing experience, including fully ERN trained AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certified.


Minimum of three years of public health experience and fully ERN trained. Knowledge of and experience utilizing the CDC/ACIP immunization guidelines. Experience working with the Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions & Services (GRITS). Trained to provide Hypertension and Diabetes clinical services under nurse protocol (if not currently trained, will be required to train upon hire). Knowledge and experience working under GA DPH Nurse protocols.
