The Program Manager is responsible for the Program Partner and Community Service Partner programs. They coordinate large-scale events and programs that are for our internal audience and enhance the Girl Scout Experience. The Program Manger is the central contact point for all the Council’s program and episodic volunteer needs that are met through an outside organization. They assist with programs as needed.
This job offers workplace flexibility that allows employees to work remotely for a portion of their work week. Details will be provided during the interview process.
The position is full time with a competitive benefit package including medical, dental, and vision experience, as well as generous paid time off and a retirement plan. Job experience is considered with salary offer; the starting salary for this position is $42,120.
Essential functions and responsibilities
  • Promotes program collaboration with Program Partner organizations, manages the Program Partner approval process and is the main point of contact for Program Partners.
  • Ensures programming offered by Program Partners is well organized and professional and meets the safety guidelines of Girl Scouts
  • Maintains database of external organizations who collaborate on Council programs.
  • Recruits and manages organizations to become Community Service Partners to promote their service needs to members
  • Maintains relationships with local university and corporate volunteer groups to solicit episodic volunteers for which the Program Manager is the primary contact.
  • Attends service fairs at local universities and businesses to promote volunteer opportunities.
  • Coordinates and manages volunteer opportunities for episodic volunteers helping with council programs and events.
  • Manages Volunteer Match, United Way and other volunteer sites to list opportunities and recruit volunteers.
  • Manages large-scale events for our internal audience. Examples of events include, but are not limited to: Troop Round Up, April Showers, and the Run/Walk
  • Ensures events have a defined purpose and scope, are well organized and promoted, and are accessible to our membership
  • Develops and operates multiple cost centers at or better than budget
  • Develops data driven plans to achieve goals and sets benchmarks to measure success; plans are well documented through project plans and budgets
  • Maintains open and professional communication with organizations and volunteers that partner with us on Council events.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent work-related experience required
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work successfully with colleagues, funders, administrators, and volunteers
  • Proficient at time and process management
  • Excellent leadership skills and volunteer management skills, including active listening
  • Ability to increase visibility and credibility within the community
  • Ability to work independently within a strong teamwork philosophy toward common goals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
