Thalle Construction Co. Inc. (“Thalle”) is seeking a Project Administrative Assistant. The Project Administrative Assistant will report to the Project Manager and work closely with and support the operations team, interact with a variety of staff at all levels and uphold a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. This position is located at our project site in Clayton, North Carolina.

Thalle, established in 1947, is a heavy civil construction company with a corporate office in Hillsborough, NC, and a regional office in Alvarado, Texas. Pay Rate: Competitive compensation package starting at $17/hour or more based on experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Administrative Assistant will support project operations with administrative tasks and as a liaison with the Corrporate Office for payroll, onboarding tasks, and document controls.

  • Prepare and process purchase orders.
  • Scheduling and verifying purchases and deliveries.
  • Maintain records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments.
  • Data entry assisting with processing weekly payroll for the company.
  • Validation of employee time, review of processed files for accuracy, and corrections as needed.
  • Perform other related activities and duties as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Accounting or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience preferred.
  • Viewpoint experience preferred, or experience in similar accounting / project management software applications.
  • Construction experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of accounting records.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly filing system, ensuring information is accessible to others.

  • Ability to self-manage work with little supervision
  • Attention to detail for consistent self-audit and audit of records.
  • Position will require proficient communication between project team and suppliers / vendors.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
