Position Summary/Objective: The Fireworks Project Lead is a management position responsible for overseeing and directing all pre show production elements assigned to his/her facility/location. This includes all aspects of show preparation and coordination while adhering to budget.


This is an FLSA salaried exempt position

Salary: $55K to $60K depending upon experience

Benefits: Medical, dental, vision insurance eligibility on the first of the month following full time employment.

Other ancillary benefits and 401k plan, paid vacation and paid holidays eligibility at 3 months of full time employment. Paid Sick time is offered first day of employment a is allocated based on the quarter in which the start date falls.


Essential Functions of the Fireworks Project Lead: While not all-inclusive, following is a list of primary and general duties. In addition to listed duties, this position shall also perform other tasks as assigned, shall abide by all provisions of the Employee Manual, and shall participate in company initiatives and projects.


The FW Production Lead is responsible and/or accountable for all duties and people management related to show production and pre-execution, including but not limited to:


  • All Crew and Gear Approval using our ERP system

  • Identifying Equipment need per show

  • Truck scheduling for all shows

  • Technician assignments for all shows and all crew members identified prior to show

  • Working in conjunction with recruiting team to ensure prospective technicians receive show assignment for training

  • Ensuring all driver schedules are confirmed

  • Ensuring all equipment transfer orders are requested and communicated to asset team

  • Ensuring all appropriate permits are completed timely and accurately

  • Ensuring all walkthroughs, demos and inspections are completed and documented

  • Arranging overnight security for product on show site

  • Ensuring performance plan is updated and correct in show folder ensuring all load-in dates/times are confirmed

  • Create and send initial P.O.s to lead technician

  • Ensuring all hotels/travel are booked and confirmed prior to show

  • Ensure all necessary technician licences are renewed

  • Serve as primary administrative contact for the client

  • Responsible for issuing contracts, insurance, and deposit invoices.


Required Experience for Fireworks Project Lead

  • Working knowledge of stage and theatrical production, including stage terminology, safety, and production organisation.

  • Working knowledge of fireworks show setup, including show site and electrical firing systems.

  • Working knowledge of the proper and safe operation of effects, pyro and fireworks equipment.

  • Knowledge of basic electronics troubleshooting and repair.

  • Knowledge of basic engineering and mechanical concepts.

  • Solid management and business operations skills, including accounting and financial management.

  • Proficiency in basic office software.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work within deadlines, and attention to detail.

  • Possess a CDL Class A and B with Hazmat endorsement.

  • Ability to quickly solve problems and issues.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions of supervisors.


Supervisory Responsibilities of the Fireworks Project Lead

  • Manage production coordinator or other administrative support for all show related administrative duties. These include but are not limited to: Equipment, scheduling, permitting, and show tech coordination.

  • Ensuring all policies and procedures are followed as per Company standards concerning show site safety process and protocol.

  • Implement needed policy and procedure changes- working closely with and under the direction of the Regional Manager and EVP/FW direction.

  • Schedule and manage staff as needed for show preparation and execution.


Work Environment of the Fireworks Project Lead

This job operates in a warehouse and an office environment. This role involves frequent communication with internal employees and external contacts-via phone, email and any other professional means of communication necessary. The person in this role will frequently and routinely work in a warehouse where temperatures can fluctuate from hot to cold. This person in this role will routinely be exposed to loud noises from both machinery and product.


Physical Demands of the Fireworks Project Lead

The person in this role must be able to both move about the warehouse frequently, walk, bend, stoop, stand and climb, and at times, remain stationary depending on the task. This person must move about occasionally inside the office to access office machinery and to have routine contact with other facility/office staff. The person in this role must effectively interact with employees/staff both verbally and in writing, obtain information, attend meetings-or as needed to complete the essential job duties. The person in this role must have the ability to move up to 100 lbs occasionally, and up to 50 lbs frequently.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time salaried exempt position. Hours of work are a typical work day schedule, except during high volume sales periods when evening and weekend work may be required.


Travel

This position requires some travel, up to 35%. Travel will be mixed local and outside the local area and overnight.


Preferred Education and Experience


High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Prior experience managing individuals and projects is required

Prior FW show site experience is preferred, but other related live events project management experience will be considered.
