Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is the medical group managing The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center’s outpatient physician clinics. Due to our continued growth to provide health care to the Columbus area we are currently expanding our leadership team and seeking a Senior Director of Access and Capacity Management.


Acts as the overall strategic leader of physician access initiatives by tracking performance, collaborating with revenue cycle to maximize collections, ensuring registration and billing practices are in line with patient-centered approach to care, oversees initiatives in outpatient registration, pre-registration, quality management, pre-authorizations, pre-determinations, insurance verification, centralized scheduling, decentralized scheduling, financial counseling and international/nationwide patient access processes.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare or related field or at least five (5) years of progressive, relevant experience and/or project management of clinical operations, IT and/or data analytics. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, coordinate, direct and control all aspects of projects/tasks. Has a general understanding of medical coding. Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively educate multiple stakeholders (e.g. executive management, providers and staff). Has a strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skill. Ability to analyze large data sets, synthesizes interpretations, collaborate in the development and deployment of targeted improvement strategies and present results findings to internal executive stakeholders.


Preferences: Master's degree in business, healthcare, or related field or project management professional (PMP) certification. Has consulting experience or past employment in an academic healthcare environment. Has experience with interpreting regulatory rule and/or healthcare finance/regulatory reporting. Proven advanced skill level of Microsoft Excel and/or Business Intelligence tools for data visualization. Experience working with Epic or other electronic medical record software. Experience managing value based/population health programs.


About our Position:

Responsible for supporting the organization’s participation in Ohio Medicaid’s Care Innovation and Community Improvement Program (CICIP). Responsible for regularly connecting with various administrative, financial, operational and clinical leaders across the organization to ensure consistency and alignment of operational and management priorities. Serves as the primary point of contact for program domain areas and project work as assigned under CICIP to ensure alignment of program requirements and timely completion of related action items. Ensures regular communication with leadership, clinical teams, project team members and other supportive teams to escalate barrier(s) and ensure necessary follow-up is completed to mitigate identified barrier(s). Effectively provides reporting CICIP intervention/proposal updates, barriers, opportunities, comments/concerns, etc. to facilitate awareness across internal and external collaborative partners.
