The Island Water Association – Purchasing Coordinator

Salary Range: $50,200 - $78,000

The Island Water Association, a member-owned water utility serving the islands of Sanibel and Captiva, Florida, is now accepting applications for the Purchasing Coordinator position. Successful candidates will have experience in purchasing and accounting functions and have excellent organization and record-keeping skills. This position is responsible for the processing of accounts payable transactions and purchasing goods and services in accordance with established policy. The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for researching vendors and processing all orders through payment to ensure the best possible quality, cost, and timely delivery of necessary goods and services. The position assists with customer service, billing, and payment processing functions, as needed.

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, accurate, and have exceptional skills in organization, negotiation, and communication. Proficiency using Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word and Excel is required. Experience with purchasing, accounting, and billing systems is required.

Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of two-years of work experience in purchasing and/or accounting. Associate degree in a business-related discipline is preferred. Pre-employment physical, background and credit check, and drug screening required.
