Purpose Built Communities Project Manager

Due to our continued success and proven track record for excellence we are pleased to announce the new position opening of Purpose Built Communities Project Manager with Famicos Foundation.

Purpose Built Communities (PBC) is a national model of holistic community revitalization. The model is built around education, health and wellness, and housing. Locally, Cleveland Purpose Built Communities (CLE PBC) is being led by The Famicos Foundation. Purpose Built Communities (PBC) program in Cleveland - Glenville and Woodland Hills in Buckeye Shaker.

Essential Functions

· Collaborate with leadership of the CLE Purpose Built Communities Initiative.

· Serve as co-chair of committee for local housing initiative to align with CLE PBC strategies.

· Operationalize the local housing initiative plan within the PBC framework.

· Operationalize the local education initiative plan within the PBC framework

· Participate as an active member of the CLE Purpose Built Communities’ Project Management Team.

· Serve as a liaison with our community partners.

· Explore and understand the health & wellness needs and opportunities and identify potential partners.

· Submit accurate monthly progress reports and other required documentation in a timely manner.

Skills & Experience

1. Three to five years of experience working with the public, preferably within a governmental or nonprofit agency, holding a minimum of an undergraduate degree in public administration, urban planning, or a related field.

2. Experience working collaboratively in a team environment to implement strategies that lead to neighborhood revitalization.

3. Comfortability engaging and working with a diverse group of stakeholders.

4. Strong communication with good listening skills and ability to build and nurture relationships.

5. Community engagement and organizing skills/experience to authentically engage key stakeholders.

6. Quick learner with the ability to learn the politics & complex educational systems of Cleveland with good critical thinking and planning skills to conceptualize partnership opportunities that benefit the neighborhood.

7. Interest in social justice and desire to work in an urban setting with an understanding of the historical context of structural racism and its connection to concentrated poverty and commitment to working with an equity lens to positively transform the neighborhood.

8. Some overnight travel is required.
