Test Automation Engineer

Job Description:
Test Automation Engineer shall have the following responsibilities:
  • Convert existing manual test cases to automated scripts using our automation framework
  • Enhance the automation framework as needed to support additional coverage
  • Write code to test the application using opensource tools such as Selenium WebDriver
  • Using automated processes, execute the test cases to evaluate software application performance
  • Document automated test results and communicate defects to the development team
  • Participate in Agile SCRUM ceremonies including Daily Stand-Ups Story Point Estimation, Backlog Grooming, Sprint/Release Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives
  • Create test documentation such as test plans, test cases, and test scripts
  • Log defects and track resolution
  • Work with developers and functional analysts to determine if the issues reported are defects or if an application is working as designed
  • Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness Determination
Required technical qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline is required.
  • Experience: 5 years with B.A./B.S. and 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • Proven track record as a Test Automation Engineer
  • 3+ years of experience with Selenium or other automation frameworks, writing automated test scripts
  • 3+ years of recent experience programming automated scripts using Java or C#
  • 2+ years of experience with test automation tools, open source, and COTS test automation frameworks, including Selenium
  • 3+ years of experience with functional testing, regression testing, or system integration testing, supporting user acceptance testing
  • 2+ years of experience with Agile methodologies and sprint-based testing cycles
  • Knowledge of DevOps and automation frameworks
  • Experience developing testing artifacts such as Test Plans, Test Cases, and Test Scripts
  • Experience testing software and logging issues and defects
  • Experience supporting end users with UAT to include the recreation of reported defects
  • Experience collaborating with Functional Analysts and reviewing requirements traceability matrices
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to understand front-end and backend testing requirements
  • Ability to analyze defects and investigate possible solutions
  • Experience working with developers to recreate issues identified
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
