The person in this position is responsible for making sure that all finished products meet government and customer specifications and that no out of spec material leaves the plant area and reaches the customer.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • Follow all safety rules.
  • Participate with the entire team to create a safe, productive working environment.
  • Assist in sampling of fresh concrete.
  • Perform pre/post operations inspection.
  • Conduct and evaluate various material and product tests.
  • Conduct and maintain records of product inspections.
  • Ensure conformance to State, Local and Company specifications.
  • Work closely with plant Operations management and National QC Manager.
  • Make timely responses to customer inquiries or complaints.
  • Provide internal company quality test data as directed.
  • Maintain lab equipment is good working order to maintain accuracy of tests.
  • Sample, test and record all raw materials at agreed upon intervals.
  • Maintain accurate quality control test data including but not limited to mill certificates, testing data, State or other agency specifications and other relevant data as required.
  • Communicate with production personnel on any quality issues.
  • Lead initiatives to improve plant productivity by focusing on the quality of all processes.
  • Maintain database of all samples to monitor consistency of all products being produced.
  • Work with all others to keep equipment and work areas clean, safe and functional.
  • Must be willing to do other duties as assigned.
  • Work with production and assist were needed.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 3+ years in a reinforced concrete manufacturing environment OR 3+ years in an active QC role (laboratory or field environment).
  • Basic understanding of NPCA specification and DOT requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite.
  • Good organization skills.
  • Ability to obtain ACI Strength, Field Tech Level 1, and PQS(NPCA) certifications within 5 mos. (current certifications preferred).
  • Ability to read shop drawings.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English (Spanish proficiency a plus).
  • Ability to work outdoors in all conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
