InterMoor Inc is looking to add an experienced QHSE Advisor to the team. The QHSE Advisor is responsible for providing support to the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) Department in accordance with InterMoor's Integrated Management System. The ultimate objective is conformance to the Acteon group standards and policies and compliance with both regulatory and client requirements.



Due to the work required, candidates must live within commuting distance of our site in Fourchon, and also be able to travel to the Morgan City office twice a week. There will also be a rotational on call schedule associated with this position.



Duties

  • Promote a strong QHSE culture throughout InterMoor Inc's organization with coordination of leadership and support from the Senior Management Team
  • Provide assistance in investigations and report writing of QHSE incidents
  • Performs day-to-day workplace inspections; report, and record findings in the HSE corrective actions log and ensure close-out is obtained
  • Works day to day with managers to implement QHSE improvements in their work areas
  • Requires leadership on any significant HSE investigations and implement appropriate mitigation actions
  • Ensure that manufacturing and production processes meet the required safety and environmental standards
  • Understand current legislative requirements and keep up with any changes to legislation and determine their impact to InterMoor Inc and the potential need for corresponding changes to the company's HSE SMS standards and policies
  • Ensure that workplace tools and equipment meet industry standards and are installed properly, as defined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration
  • Ensure that workplace meets USCG (United States Coast Guard) regulations for MARSEC facility
  • Prepare HSE documentation (including risk assessments, job safety analysis, behavioral based safety observations, safety data sheets, non-conformance reports, and preventative and corrective actions)
  • Enhance procedures based on regulatory, client and company business requirements
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions or concerns from employees, managers, clients and regulatory agencies
  • Define HSE procedures in conjunction with operating staff
  • Conduct risk assessments to detect potential hazards and plan precautionary measures
  • Participate in the development of HSE training and provide training or other presentations as needed
  • Leads QHSE trainings, toolbox talks, and Pre-job safety discussions
  • Understands equipment calibration certificates, due date and expiration dates, and requirements for retesting
  • Understands working with critical lifts, heavy lifts, and rigging inspections and the movement of equipment by forklift
  • Understands document control and revision levels of controlled documents
  • Participate in audits of the InterMoor Integrated Management System including interviews and walk throughs with the auditor
  • Participate in Coast Guard audits of the facility and implements corrective actions when needed



Required

  • 2 years' experience in QHSE related discipline, or equivalent
  • Experience with HSE Management systems and HSE audits
  • EMR experience or higher, preferred
  • Understanding of QHSE auditing practices and protocols
  • Certified as an ISO 9001 auditor or willing to attend training to become certified to perform audits, desirable
  • Training in QHSE Management Systems such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001 or other standards
  • Medical First Responder certification, preferred
  • Site Safety Officer certification, desirable
  • Thorough understanding of regulations and the regulatory process
  • Participate in the revision of procedures and policies when needed
  • Proven fundamental understanding of Louisiana Environmental Laws
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management and field location personnel
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Good analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office including PowerPoint presentations, desirable
  • Must hold a valid driving license
