Skybound is looking for a Quality Assurance superstar to work closely with our creative, production and development teams to ensure all our titles are fun, stable and polished. The Quality Assurance Manager will lead an internal QA team and manage/build relationships with multiple external QA partners. The ideal candidate will be able to leverage strong experience working directly with dev teams to provide embedded support, feedback and build evaluation during all phases of production.

As QA Manager, you will be integrated into development from the earliest stages, shaping quality strategy from project green light. You’ll serve as a senior member of the production team, working directly with developers, producers and creative leads to support and guide all our products in development. You will create and maintain quality reporting and risk assessment, manage and mentor testers, and drive a vision for testing best practices. From indie-scale to AAA games, you will develop process to optimize dev team collaboration with QA.

Reports: This position will report to the EVP, Production

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Meet with production teams to develop quality strategies early in production
  • Hire and manage a small team of internal QA testers
  • Build and maintain relationships with external QA partners
  • Oversee and maintain consistency of reporting
  • Conceive and pilot processes for transparency, coverage and rapid feedback
  • Develop strategies for embedded testing to catch issues early and support strong foundations
  • Constantly improve; develop strategies for better testing, automation and reporting
  • Establish test criteria for certification and launch readiness
  • Participate in milestone/build evaluation for all products
  • Guide and approve test plans for all products
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two shipped products in a senior or lead games testing role
  • Experience managing first party relationships and certification
  • Experience with Jira, Mantis, Fogbugz or other issue tracking software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to earn trust and build relationships with a wide variety of partners
  • Passion for the art and business of game development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software development engineering experience
  • Experience with automated testing and reporting
  • Direct development experience in embedded test or development operations
  • Computer Science or technical degree
  • Scrum, agile, or other project management training
  • Passion for Skybound IP

Job Type: Regular, Full-Time

Salary Range: $85,000-$125,000

  • Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc
  • The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees
  • Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each role
