Job Description

Cabinetworks Group has an immediate opening for a Quality Control Technician in our Marshall Facility.

JOB SUMMARY:

Quality Control Assistants will spend time each day in the individual production departments looking at processes and finished parts and checking those parts/cabinets to ensure they meet Quality Control Standards required. Using established Quality Control Check sheet and Cabinetworks Group Specifications. Assistants will make determinations if parts and process are in reasonable compliance to spec. If OOC issues are seen then, Operator, Lead Person, Department Manager and Quality Control Manager are to be notified of the occurrence/issue so a determination can be made for usage, re-work or disposal of materials. In most cases written documentation will be required of the non- conformance.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must be able to work in a standing position for several hours at a time.
• Computer experience will be necessary, Company Email, Word, Excel, Power Point may all be used from time to time.
• Daily and weekly reporting of Quality Control findings to Quality Control Manager, will be required.
• Must be able to interact and effectively communicate to operators and other line workers as to issues seen.
• Overall understanding of cabinetry and furniture manufacturing would be a big plus.
• Previous experience in a Quality function, would also be a big plus. Usage of tools, such as Tape Measure, Calipers, Calculator will be required.
• Must be able to work any overtime necessary as required. Normal hours are day shift from 8am to 5pm an 8 to 9 hour shift but some Saturday work will be required.
• Must have good math skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Minimum HS education, some college and technical training a plus.
• Some work experience and exposure to Continuous Process Improvement methods would also be a big plus.
