Compensation: $37 - $67/hr, depending on experience
Overview/Summary:
The main function of an ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Specialist is to support the Engineering organization in ensuring that ISO 9001 documentation is up to date, be able to understand engineering processes, ensure department training conformity, manage the Business Management System (Client), and support internal and external audits. A typical ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Specialist has the ability to read and interpret engineering process documentation, evaluate gaps and non-conformities, and provide recommendations on necessary action items in order to comply with the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering organization ISO 9001 documentation health check (document audit)
- Evaluate existing documentation for accuracy (up-to-date links, references, etc.)
- Work with the document owner on edits/improvements
- Identify gaps in engineering processes and ISO 9001 documentation
- Work with engineering managers to understand all process
- Support manager in initiating the document creation (provide templates, instructions, etc.)
- Identify the interconnectivity of various processes and ensure accuracy
- Audit new documentation, identify risks and create action items for process owners
- Understand new document retention requirements and work with the document retention team
- Department-specific training conformity
- Make sure each engineering area has a Training Matrix and keeps records of training
- Support engineer managers to identify training gaps within their teams and create a recovery plan
- Documentation maintenance in Business Management System (Client)
- Keep Client updated every review cycle (revision history, owner accuracy, etc.) and communicate changes to the engineering organization
- Keep Document Management System SharePoint updated
- Internal & External audits
- Work with the Corporate Quality team on internal audits in preparation for external audit
- Support the external audit including follow-up action items
Required Skills:
- Previous experience with ISO 9001 standards and internal/external audits.
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- Basic leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
