Job Summary:

The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Quality Systems for Bevolution Group’s Frostproof manufacturing facility. The Quality Manager interprets and implements companywide quality policies, manages and implements quality systems, and facilitates compliance inspections. You will manage day-to-day QA and Sanitation operations to support the GMP manufacturing, testing and release of finished product under FDA standards and internal procedures. This position reports to the Vice President Quality, Regulatory and R&D, and is responsible for managing a team of 4 people.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages the day to day Quality Assurance function for Bevolution Group’s Frostproof, CA Juice processing plant, including analytical quality control, process control, raw material and finished goods quality control, Microbiology and sanitation programs
  • Effectively manage food safety (HACCP and Juice HAACP) programs and all associated re-requisite programs.
  • Oversee the internal and external audit program, which includes focus on GMP compliance, regulatory agency inspection readiness, and for-cause inspections.
  • Recommend systems for audit; write audit plans, coordinate scheduling, conduct and write reports to close audits. Follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper coordination of customer-initiated audits and mock regulatory inspections, and manage regulatory facility inspections.
  • Manage documentation, reporting, and closure of compliance issues.
  • Review GMP quality metrics. Analyze data relating to process validations, process controls, and continuous process improvement efforts. Coordinate the necessary quality adjustments.
  • Review relevant GMP documents for compliance to company SOPs, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee Quality investigations: nonconforming product, customer complaint, laboratory out-of-specification, and root cause analysis , corrective and preventive action implementation
  • Provide guidance, interpretation, support, training, and input on the interpretation and implementation of regulations, guidelines, company procedures, and policies.
  • Develop and work with staff to implement quality process controls relating to all areas of operation, including the following systems: quality, facilities and equipment, materials management, production, packaging, and labeling.
  • With Teamwork of other Plant Quality Managers, Prepare and conduct the Quality Management Review meetings with senior management.
  • Advises plant management on external environment and strategic compliance trend impacting our business.

Qualifications and Desired Skills:

  • Must have experience working in a beverage manufacturing facility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field preferred but consideration will be given to adequate work experience.
  • HACCP Certified, including Juice HACCP
  • 5+ years of Food Safety, Quality Control, Quality Assurance or other regulatory related management experience within a FDA environment.
  • Internal auditor certification within one of the GFSI programs (BRC, FSSC 22000, etc.) in food processing environment. Preference will be given to candidates with certification and experience with the BRC or FSSC 22000 schemes.
  • Must have working knowledge of Food Safety and Regulatory business standards, practices, policies, procedures and state and federal laws and regulations including but not limited to HACCP, Juice HAACP, GMP’s, SSOP’s, Food Labeling, Import/Export Regulations, GFSI Certification Programs (F22K & BRC).
  • Experience working in a USDA regulated facility
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams, internally and externally (e.g. research institutes, representatives of processing and produce industries, suppliers, laboratories, etc.)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills (pays attention to details and effort to understand causes instead of just the effects) and creativity for developing innovative solutions and applications.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects under short timelines to produce commercially viable solutions.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
