SUMMARY
The RASS-II provides high level administrative support to Department of State personnel for the Disability and Reasonable Accommodations Division (DRAD) located within the Office of Accessibility and Accommodations (OAA).

The RASS-II provides high level administrative support to Department of State personnel for the Disability and Reasonable Accommodations Division (DRAD) located within the Office of Accessibility and Accommodations (OAA).
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Note Taking – Ensuring notes are accurate, concise and that notes are captured electronically the same day for access by the employee.
  • Time management – Ensuring scheduling is handled in a manner that empowers the employee to effectively manage their time. This includes ensuring the calendar is always updated, indicators of timing is conveyed to employee during meetings and/or relational to events, and discussions with employee to manage expectations on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Initiative – Logistics need to be driven by the DOS employee, but initiative must be taken by the RASS II to ensure preparations are completed to allow the employee seamless access to the physical and electronic environment of the work. This includes prioritization of what needs to be made accessible for the meetings such as documents, bios, pictures and collecting information needed prior to meetings, during the meetings and after the meetings and ensuring it is accessible to the employee.
  • Travel Logistics – Coordinating travel requirements, pre-travel advising on aspects of accommodations, and ensuring accessibility is coordinated pre, during and post travel.

Assertiveness – The RASS II will be providing access for employees at a senior level. It is essential that the RASS II is assertive and able to drive the accommodation instead of relying on the DOS employee to always provide direction. They must be able to provide this level of assertiveness while still including the employee, so they are empowered to perform their work effectively.

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field and/or relevant experience providing reasonable accommodations.

*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Command of the English Language both spoken and in writing across multiple linguistic registers and the ability to match and/or capture the register necessary.
  • Frozen Register – Language that is static, usually formalized and requiring spontaneous speech production.
  • Formal Register – Language is usually elevated, precise, official, and professional. Requires complete sentences.
  • Consultative Register – Language used to discuss a specific topic of discussion amongst participants.
  • Casual Register – Language use that is informal or imprecise. May incorporate incomplete sentences, regional phrases or slang.
  • Intimate Register – Language used amongst close acquaintances and is more personal in nature.
  • Strong technical command of Microsoft Applications including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • This position may require travel overseas for periods of three (3) or more months. Contractor must have a valid passport with a period greater than 6 months from the date of expiration.
  • Ability to work autonomously accessing when issues need to be elevated to achieve the programs mission.
  • DOS employees required a RASS Level – II accommodation have been identified by DRAD as employees who require a higher level of commitment and support.
  • Typically, employees who require this level of assistance work at senior executive levels. This may include an increased need to adjust hours of work to match the customer and may include an increased flexibility for travel beyond the standard location.
  • Active TOP SECRET clearance.
  • Ability to successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen.
  • Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently blocked from enforcement pending court proceedings. Therefore, Cherokee Federal is halting the application of the mandate; however, if the injunction is lifted, Cherokee Federal will restore administration of the vaccine requirement.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $124k - $ 126k annually*
