Receiving Associate Job at Rural King Supply
Overview:
Primary responsibility is to load and unload shipments, split for storage or movement of freight to the sales floor. May unpack, label or process merchandise, organize displays, stock shelves or take inventory. Insures that products are easily accessible, constantly available, properly distributed and safely stored.
Responsibilities:
- Commit to company-established receiving practices.
- Sort product onto rocket carts.
- Transport freight to the sales floors after sorting and ensuring that sufficient quantity has been delivered.
- Aid the Management team in tracking all merchandise.
- Handle store-to-store transfers and UPS transfers.
- Scan and send any daily shorts and invoices to corporate.
- Request backhaul and make sure all pallets are wrapped and truck is loaded.
- Ensure dumpster is emptied as needed.
- Provide safe environment by keeping work areas clean & organized.
- Use general office equipment.
- Operate forklift, pallet jack, handheld inventory device, ladder, and other retail equipment.
- Help drive company initiatives, such as Rural King’s Harvest Card Program, Customer C.A.R.E., RK Plus Protection Plan.
- File paperwork quickly and accurately.
- Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time.
- Frequently operate keyboard to enter in information.
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively with customers and co-workers (in-person and via electronic devices).
- Ability to move up to 20 pounds repetitively and 21-50 pounds intermittently.
- May be required to cross train and perform other duties.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- None.
- Previous receiving and/or management experience.
- Ability to interact with the team in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Ability to access and use the in-store computer, scanning system, and wireless handheld unit.
