POSITION SUMMARY

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving items in a timely and accurate manner by signing the bills of lading, verifying receipts, processing receipts in the computer database and coordinating storage of incoming goods. This position reports to the Receiving Lead.


JOB FUNCTIONS
Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.
  • Process and deliver customer returns to the proper locations
  • Receive shipments from the vendor or shipper in accordance with Bauer’s quality procedures and in accordance with warehouse procedures.
  • Examine and unpack incoming shipments, record shortages, and reject damaged items.
  • Process goods receipts in ERP (Made2Manage) system.
  • Properly label all incoming material.
  • Expedite and coordinate delivery of “RUSH” items.
  • Coordinate the stocking of received items.
  • Communicate discrepancies with purchasing and quality control groups.
  • Maintain Missing Parts List (MPL) on inbound material.
  • Assisting in inventory issues as Warehouse Supervisor deems necessary.
  • Drive company vehicle to do supplier pick-ups/deliveries.
  • Operate a forklift and other equipment to unload materials, move materials, and deliver materials throughout the plant.
  • Unload trucks using a forklift.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, and follow safety regulations.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a warehouse environment which includes receiving and purchasing experience.
  • Ability to operate a forklift or have the ability to successfully complete forklift certification for operation within 30 days of employment.
  • Computer experience with MS Office (Excel and Outlook) with an ability to learn and utilize the ERP system proficiently.
  • Valid driver’s license with positive driving record.
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize demands.
  • Must possess a sense of urgency and drive to deliver results on an individual and team level.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience with Made2Manage (M2M) a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use of eyes for close vision, use hands, fingers, grasp, handle, reach, listen, talk and may need to talk on the telephone while taking notes. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or ask for assistance.

The noise levels in some manufacturing facilities frequently may exceed the normal dBA. The employee is required to wear the necessary personal protection equipment in the plant.

Normal working schedule: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday with some overtime required at times.
