Job Summary

The Staff Accountant II role gains extensive exposure to diverse aspects of AssuredPartner’s business. The role contributes to the success of the company by providing accurate monthly general accounting services, preparing monthly financial statements, reviewing department budgets and developing process efficiencies. The role also assists in the preparation and maintenance of month-end and quarterly supporting schedules, quarterly financial statement preparation, provides direct assistance to external auditors and performs other special projects as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Please note that the duties below can vary based on the workflow of your local office.

  • Prepare accounting-related entries related to various source reports, journals and registers.
  • Perform the processing of monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, setup and monthly maintenance of fixed assets, including depreciation and the recording of adjusting and reclassification entries.
  • Assist with preparation of the monthly Platform intercompany workbooks.
  • Assist with the upload monthly platform general ledger (G/L) activity into the Corporate G/L and reconcile differences.
  • Review and reconcile intercompany expenses to assure expenses are properly recorded.
  • Assist with preparation of detailed reconciliations of Corporate’s balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist with the month end accounting process including preparation of financial reporting package.
  • Prepare analytical review documents of Corporate and Platform financial statements.
  • Prepare the monthly cashflow statements for the Platforms.
  • Assist the senior accountants with new acquisitions and the related contingent payments.
  • Assist department with the quarterly contingent payment revaluation and payment processes.
  • Assist with the quarterly financial statement footnotes and related supporting documentation.
  • Analyze accounting problems and arrive at workable solutions. Evaluate information, identify key issues that need to be addressed and develop courses of action that effectively address the issue at hand. Is capable of making sound, common sense decisions.
  • Manage assigned projects by prioritizing work to meet established deadlines and ensuring that accounting objectives are accomplished while keeping the Assistant Controller informed of project status and issues identified.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting efficiencies and drive projects to completion.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, data analysis, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain a well-organized financial data and document warehouse.
  • Develop and maintain productive team-oriented relationships through individual contact and group meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Travel is expected to be 10% in this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 3+ years of full-time experience in accounting or related field

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
