We are hiring for an experienced Registered Dietitian with experience in behavioral health.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and determine the individual needs of residents upon admission and during treatment.
• Develop and implement dietary care plan by assessing nutritional needs, determining resources, coordinating dietary program with medical team.
• Teach patients proper food-management techniques to promote and improve their health.
• Control special diet meals by verifying food preparation techniques, checking meals for palatability and appearance.
• Educate patients by teaching nutrition principles, diet regimens and food selection and preparation.
• Develop policies for food service or nutritional programs to assist in health promotion and disease control.
• Encourage patients by promoting goals, reinforcing positive results, offering comfort.
• Participate in treatment team meetings to assist in planning and revising goals and objectives.
• Develop curriculum and prepare manuals, visual aids, course outlines, and other materials used in teaching.
• Prepare and administer budgets for food, equipment and supplies.
• Purchase food in accordance with health and safety codes.
• Manage quantity food service departments or clinical and community nutrition services.
• Coordinate diet counseling services.
• Advise food service managers and organizations on sanitation, safety procedures, menu development, budgeting, and planning to assist with the establishment, operation, and evaluation of food service facilities and nutrition programs.
• Organize, develop, analyze, test, and prepare special meals such as low-fat, low-cholesterol and chemical-free meals.
• Assist the Director of Operations in maintaining the overall Health and Safety of residents, staff and employees of Futures.
• Other duties as assigned

Characteristics and Qualifications:

· Florida license and registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration-- Required

· Bachelor’s Degree-- Required

· Demonstrated expertise in clinical nutrition, preferably in a substance abuse, behavioral health, and eating disorder treatment facility

· One to two years’ experience in a hospital or treatment center setting

· Must be team-oriented and have strong communication skills
