Our nurses have the opportunity to take on OR, pre/post-op, and office-related duties, allowing for a variety in your day-to-day job.

Schedule:

We are flexible in offering full-time and part-time positions. We do not work evenings, weekends, or holidays, and you will not have any on-call duties.

Core pillars of being an RN at Holland Eye depending on your interest and our need:

OR Scrub or Circulator

  • Assist surgeon throughout cases. Average of 12-16 cases per morning.
  • Prepare all necessary surgical tools needed for each case.
  • Manage storage and ordering of surgical supply inventory.
  • Document chart notes in EHR for each surgical case.

Pre/Post-op

  • Monitor vitals, ensure patients’ eyes are dilating according to the doctor’s requirement for the case.
  • Administer and safeguard narcotics and other drugs.
  • Manage the efficient flow of patients before and after surgery while ensuring a high-level of care.
  • Direct, supervise, and collaborate with pre/post-op staff.
  • Call patients in the afternoon to check their status post-surgery.

Office

  • Schedule patients for surgery and medical testing.
  • Provide pre-op instruction, collect patient medical history, etc. ensuring they are qualified for surgery.
  • Respond to any medical emergencies in the clinic.
  • Provide knowledge and direction to clinic staff when questions arise.
  • Assist in the management and ordering of various supplies.
