REGISTERED RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN:

Provides diagnostic radiographic exams of patients for use by physicians in the development of diagnoses and treatment plans.
Education/Experience:
Equivalent to graduation from high school and graduation from an accredited school of radiology.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Must possess valid American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography and a State of Nevada License in Radiology. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Additional and/or Preferred Position Requirements:
PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WHO DOCUMENT THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE:
  • Trauma experience.
  • Open to work varied shifts (days, swings, graveyards).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements:
Knowledge of:
Radiographic examination procedures and protocols; diagnostic x-ray equipment; quality assurance and quality control measures; personal computers; anatomy and physiology of the human body; contrast application and contrast reaction symptoms; venipuncture techniques; department and hospital safety practices and procedures; patient rights; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures; age-specific patient care practices.
Skill in:
Positioning patients properly to maximize results; using diagnostic x-ray exam equipment; preparing and administering contrast solutions; applying radiation safety principles; applying aseptic principles; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting, including stamina to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; vision to use standard office equipment and read printed materials including a VDT screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
