Position Summary:
The Ancillary Services Assistant performs primarily direct patient care for the departments within Ancillary Services. Position activities including but not limited to patient rooming, assisting the therapist in interventions, monitoring inventory and may include assisting with prescriptions, referrals and charge reconciliation, assisting in end of month processing of all patient medical records given to HIM for coding, answering phones, and ordering supplies. May float to the various departments within Ancillary Services to assist as needed with support activities. Innovations improve work procedures and methods and primarily result in some time and cost savings. Work occasionally requires internal contacts outside the work group to exchange work-related information. Contact with external contacts involves providing or getting factual information. Requires normal courtesy and tact in dealing with others. This position has direct interface with patients, visitors, volunteers, and other members of the health care team.

Education:
Diploma/Certificate/GED required

Licensure/Certification:
CPR required

Work Experience:
At least (1) year of related customer service or clerical experience preferred. 3. Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one (1) year experience as a nursing assistant or enrollment in an accredited school of nursing or physical therapy or other allied health program, and/or one (1) year experience as a therapy aide is preferred.
