Required Qualificaitons:
- BA/BS in a science, social science, health related, or business related field; or a combination of related education and work experience totaling 4 years or more.
- Working knowledge of scientific method, human subjects research, and research regulations.
- Strong computer skills (in Microsoft OS and productivity software).
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to learn and integrate new information quickly.
- Ability to speak and communicate clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
- Ability to interact patiently and respectfully with elderly research participants.
- Ability to prioritize and carry out multiple work demands efficiently and manage time appropriately.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask. Reliable personal transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IRB interaction and maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Have taken courses in research methods, psychology, business, data management, helping professions, or allied health fields
- Recruit research participants, determine eligibility, obtain informed consent, facilitate study enrollment, employ retention methods of creating a monthly study newsletter as well as hosting monthly events for participants, and track retention (15%)
- Maintain regulatory compliance; communicate with IRB and external research sponsor representatives (10%)
- Independently coordinate, complete, and assure quality of all protocol elements (5%)
- Assist with publications, abstracts, professional presentations (10%)
- Help PI with Lab tasks, such as coordinating lab meetings, hiring staff, and grant applications (5%)
- Consent participants, administer diagnostic structured interviews of cognitive status, battery of neuropsychological and clinic based functional tasks/questionnaires (20%)
- Cross-training and delegating tasks to other research staff (5%)
- Development and maintenance of project database using REDCap (30%)
This position will be located in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences.
