Position Summary
The UNC Institute for Trauma Recovery has two primary goals. The first goal is to help discover how adverse neuropsychiatric sequelae (e.g., posttraumatic stress disorder, pain, depression, and other somatic symptoms) develop after traumatic stress exposure (e.g., motor vehicle collision, combat, sexual assault). The second goal is to use this knowledge to develop and test interventions that prevent these outcomes. Our primary strategy to achieve these goals is to recruit and retain outstanding, talented, self-motivated staff and faculty who are passionate about improving the lives of individuals who have experienced trauma. We love working as a team and believe that working hard and having fun are not mutually exclusive. We believe that a professional life invested in working to improve the lives of trauma survivors across the globe has great meaning. We believe in balance and wellness. The Institute for Trauma Recovery embraces a hybrid work model where people work from home some days and in the office with team members other days. However, we are open to also considering workers who would need to be fully remote.

The Research Project Manager in this position will help lead a broad range of activities related to planning, organizing, executing, managing, and monitoring the implementation of new and existing initiatives including observational studies and clinical trials. Other duties of this position may include assisting with strategic planning, study design, grant planning and submissions, budget planning and management, development of study procedures, adverse event reporting, manuscript writing, and stakeholder engagement. This position will also supervise and manage other staff and graduate and undergraduate students.
