Grant Researcher

Contract Description Summary

Part-time contract position for a non-profit advocacy agency located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. New Mexico Association of Community Partners (NMACP) supports six Community Action Agencies throughout New Mexico whose mission is to improve the lives of families and individuals living in poverty.

The Grant Researcher will be expected to assist the Association and its six (6) member organiztions with identifying, applying for and securing grants from foundation, corporate and government funding sources.

Grant Researcher will report directly to the NMACP Executive Director.

Primary Responsibilities

● Investigate and identify prospective funding sources through federal, state, and local sources, colleagues, directories, periodicals, and internet research

● Write and submit letters of inquiry and solicitations
● Match prospective funding sources with agency or member’s mission, vision and objectives
● Review requests for proposals (RFP) in detail in order to determine appropriateness for our network
● Assist with drafting corporate proposals as needed
● Assist with compiling supplemental documents or forms as required in order to respond to a RFP
● Provide monthly activity reports to the Executive Director
● Assist the Association with drafting or editing proposal narratives as requested
● Maintain a list or database of funding sources researched and document outreach & application activities

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, but not required if experience is demonstrated.

● Experience with grant writing, proposal research, or agency development
● Experience working with policy makers and foundation staff
● Strong presentation, communication and organizational skills
● Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents and instructions related to possible funding opportunities
● Strong research skills
● Experience with non-profit work preferred but not required
● Ability to work remotely with a flexible schedule, 20-25 hours per month
