Save The Michaels of the world (Proud Winner of the National Safety Council Green Cross 2020 Safety Advocate of the Year Award) is expanding its footprint into Niagara County and looking to hire four responsible, dedicated, compassionate full time Recovery Coach assistants (RCA)positions for our new NEWFANE NYResidential Reintegration Center. The position includes a $500 bonus at first 6 months and a $1,000 bonus at first 12 months of employment.

Job Description:The Recovery Coach Assistant will work directly with the Recovery Coaches assisting with peer support services for people recovering from substance use/ mental health disorders. You will be providing empathetic, unconditional support and encouragement as well as helping the resident connect to community-based recovery resources consistent with the individual’s goals and recovery wellness plan. Multiple pathways to recovery are celebrated. If you are an energetic, compassionate, non-judgmental, person who would find it personally rewarding to help others on their recovery journey to recovery & wellness, this position is for you. A valid NYS driver’s license, and automobile in good working order required.

The primary responsibility of this position is to be aware and alert during the residents’ daily routine/schedule making sure the residents are following the schedule. regular direct rounds and observations of all areas of the facility This employee is also responsible for ensuring that the residents are where they are supposed to be always in and out of the facility and that established scheduled routines are followed.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Perform hourly building rounds to ensure patient safety
  • Complete room searches throughout the facility as needed
  • Supervise wellness and family group activities
  • Responsible for the direct care of residents during shift
  • Instructs and monitors to ensure that the scheduled routine, structure and habilitative programming is maintained and all related standards are met
  • assists in transporting clients as required
  • Manage a clean and safe work environment
  • Interact with residents in ways that are respectful and trauma sensitive
  • Completes all required paperwork (rounds, chart, daily logs etc.) Promptly & performs other appropriate duties as may be required by the supervisor
  • Model healthy coping skills, self-care, and resilience.
  • Support multiple pathways to recovery.
