Restaurant Server | Vaux in the Canopy Portland Pearl District Job at PM Hotel Group

PM Hotel Group Portland, OR 97209

What You’ll Do:

Flawless service is the centerpiece of hospitality—and hospitality is something we take pretty darned seriously. Our Servers are responsible for assisting guests with food and beverage choices, attending to their needs and making sure every dining experience is nothing short of spectacular. Your personality combined with your knowledge of the menu is the can’t-miss combo that keeps people coming back. We will be looking to you to make every dining experience flawless.

Here are a few things you can expect to do during a typical shift:

1. Communicate effectively with guests and answer questions regarding menu items, specials and beverages.

2. Maintain knowledge of current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, and food shortages in the kitchen.

3. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure that all orders are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.

4. Monitor and maintain the guests dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, remove courses, replenish utensils, and refill glasses.

Where You’ll Do It:

Located in the heart of the vibrant Pearl District, Vaux features a seasonal contemporary menu that highlights favorite local products. Led by Executive Chef Michael Iles and drawing on his diverse culinary experience, the menu draws heavily from flavors and products of the Pacific Northwest with International accents. Bartenders create signature cocktails from Portland’s renowned Distillery Row and serve world-class wines from Willamette Valley and beers from the state’s finest craft breweries.

The team at Vaux supports local farmers and sustainability efforts.

Vaux is located inside the Canopy Portland | Pearl District set amidst an extensive collection of fine and local art curated by neighboring Elizabeth Leach Gallery, including an expansive sculpture inspired by Vaux Swifts from Portland-based artist Sean Healy. Vaux boasts an outdoor patio along NW Glisan, dining room seating, a comfortable lounge and a private dining room perfect for intimate groups up to 30 guests.

Canopy by Hilton's culture is defined by who we are and how we interact with each other, our guests, our partners, and our neighbors. Our culture, "Positively Yours," is much more than a slogan. It's our underlying attitude, the story of who we are and how we approach everything.

At the core of Canopy by Hilton’s culture is the Positive Stay Promise. An ideal Enthusiast sets the tone for creating the “Positively Yours” culture at our hotel and is committed to delivering the lifestyle experiences our guests want.

Where You’ve Been:

We’re looking for someone with a High School diploma (or equivalent) and previous serving experience, preferably in an upscale dining environment. The ability to think on your feet and work calmly under pressure is essential. You must be able to contribute to a collaborative and diverse team dynamic and have a passion for customer service. Food Handler’s and Liquor Permits are also required.

When You’re Here:

This probably goes without saying but you’ll be on your feet a lot. There will be occasions when you may be carrying/lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, bending/twisting and climbing stairs. You also must be able to accommodate varying schedules including nights, weekends and holidays. But wait, there’s a great upside: in exchange for your flexibility we offer excellent pay, hotel discounts, and the opportunity to be part of an anything-but-standard growing hotel company.
