Job Summary:

Responsible for executing and directing the operating functions and financial performance of the Retail Department to include: Revenue and P&L performance, supervision of day to day operations, merchandising, photo/imaging, inventory planning and control, development of direct reports, training, staffing, and employee engagement. Candidates must have a strong understanding of merchandise flow and product placement to ensure that the Six Flags & Hurricane Harbor image and style is well represented at all times.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage the activities of the full-time & seasonal team and oversee the daily operation of the Retail & Attractions Department
  • Manage, develop, and evaluate the performance of all full-time and seasonal staff
  • Develop and maintain financial budgets annually and forecasts monthly as well as business plans and analyses as assigned
  • Develop, execute, and coordinate ROI and Asset Maintenance Capital projects from concept through completion, on time and on budget
  • Direct the execution of visual merchandising and product promotion strategies
  • Merchandise presentation and shopping environment - Direct, inspire, and lead seasonal team by providing feedback and monitoring product placement, stock levels, signage, and cleanliness on a daily basis
  • Implement controls to ensure operational efficiency on a daily basis with labor management being primary focus
  • Deliver the “Best Shopping Experience” for our Guests and work with our Team to exceed targeted service standards
  • Enhance operational performance in pursuit of financial targets with short term and long-term strategies, processes, and events
  • Maintain the proper flow of inventory to maximize sales while closely monitoring cost of sales and shrink to drive margin growth
  • Work cohesively with Loss Prevention, Human Resources, Cash Control, and other support areas to ensure compliance and support
  • Ensure safety standards are in place and consistently enforced
  • Be an engaged global leader, participating in Unit 10 and committee responsibilities while seeking out opportunities to support the success of our parks
  • All other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be professional, energetic, self-motivated, and have a positive attitude
  • 5+ years leadership experience in a Retail setting preferably in a theme park environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple operations simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office as well as inventory and labor management programs
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift and must possess a valid driver’s license and clear driving record
