General Overview
Reporting to the Revenue Cycle Operations Director, the Revenue Cycle Analyst plays a key role in a high-profile group tasked with improving revenue results by taking a global view of clinical and financial processes, functions and interdependencies from the provision of patient care to final bill generation. Due to its service focus and project management emphasis, this position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, superb analytic and organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines while influencing, but not directly managing the work of others.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

- Responsibility for assigned Epic Workqueues, acting with a high degree of autonomy.
- Routinely runs Epic & iPort reports to ensure focus on optimizing charge capture, denial prevention, and revenue integrity.
- Evaluates current charging and coding structures and processes in clinical departments to ensure appropriate capture and reporting of revenue and compliance with government and third-party payor requirements.
- Provides guidance, communication and education on correct charge capture, coding and billing processes to multiple clinical departments.
- Participates in complex projects related to revenue cycle initiatives.
- Collaborates with Compliance, Budget Office, Central Billing Office, Single Billing Office, Health Information Services, Release of Information, and other Revenue and Finance departments on revenue management initiatives.
- Analyzes billing error and denial data to identify root causes. Executes on work plans to correct identified deficiencies.
- Analyzes changes to coding and billing rules and regulations by utilizing appropriate reference materials, internet sources, seminars and publications. Executes on work plans to adapt systems and processes to accommodate changes.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field preferred
- Five years’ experience in healthcare field required
- Epic experience preferred
- A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements

- Possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with cross functional teams including staff at all levels of the organization
- Ability to successfully negotiate and collaborate with others of different skill sets, backgrounds an levels within and external to the organization
- Strong problem solving and negotiation skills
- Ability to effectively conduct meetings, both formal and informal
- Requires minimal direction from leadership and possesses the ability to learn quickly
