Position Summary

HCC Coding Specialists play a central role in value-based care program performance and are the most critical driver of successful revenue cycle management operations. Coding specialists ensure optimum, efficient, and timely reimbursement for medical services rendered via MY DR NOW’s dynamic healthcare delivery platform. Coding Specialists review every encounter note, capture all possible storytelling data, guarantee correct codes are assigned for all services, and ensure clean claims are submitted for immediate reimbursement by third-party payers.

Qualifications: Experience coding patient encounters from medical record documentation with specific emphasis on capturing & maximizing all Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) codes and other quality indicators (i.e. CPT II/HEDIS/STARS, etc.). Must have in-depth knowledge of Risk Adjustment Factor (RAF) scoring methodology as well two years’ experience applying principles of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) Category II codes and Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) data collection/monitoring-related STARS measures within a primary care setting. Must have experience coding encounters submitted to all CMS programs (Medicare & Medicaid) in a primary care setting. Must be computer savvy, able to work independently, have a passion for healthcare and have an entrepreneurial spirit.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
