We are looking for a Robotics and Automation Engineer to design and build robotics applications and devices. As a member of the Product Design and Development team, the Robotics and Automation Engineer will design prototypes, build and test machines, and maintain the software that controls them. The Robotics and Automation Engineer will also conduct research to find the most cost-efficient and safest processes for operations.
Responsibilities:
- Build models and prototypes
- Calculate and analyze test results
- Research the state of the art
- Prepare reports with recommendations and conclusions
- Prepare specifications and other technical documentation so that prototype designs can be manufactured, assembled, and operated
- Must develop and maintain technical expertise on advances and innovations in robotics and relevant fields of engineering
Work under general supervision with advanced knowledge in subject matter - Coordinate design efforts with other engineering disciplines
- Perform integration tests and quality control
- Apply machine learning techniques
- Create complete documentation for robotic systems
- Monitor the use of robotic systems and optimize their functionality
- Troubleshoot design defects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field from an accredited university
- Deep knowledge of mechanization, flexible automation, and computer systems
- 5+ years of experience as a robotics and automation engineer preferred
- Well-versed in computer science, applied physics, and mechanics
- Ability to develop and evaluate integrated systems
- Prior 3D simulation experience a plus
- Knowledge of and hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems
- Has acquired or is working towards obtaining P.E. license
- Proficient with 3D modeling and Microsoft Office Suite
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to set and achieve goals
- Outstanding communication skills
- Expected to perform all other duties and tasks as assigned
- Excellent professional and interpersonal skills
