What you will do:

  • Operate the stacker at an average speed of 6 minutes per unit or less, after removal of downtime
  • Make sure boards are even ended correctly and they are not to long for the
  • Make sure the right number of sticks are in each layer, the sticks are in the right place and the right number of layers per unit
  • Take wane samples of each unit
  • Communicate downtime with the downtime recorder
  • Investigate mill downtime and offer assistance
  • Perform PMs on the stacker if so designated
  • Operate machine safely and in a manner to meet optimum efficiency
  • Train other co-workers on how to operate equipment
  • Assist Maintenance in repairs, as needed
  • Assist co-workers, as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area
  • Perform other work duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • Work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as scheduled or required
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment and completing all required training
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience you will need:

  • Minimum High School or GED required
  • Experience with the precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps
  • Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors
  • Experience reading blueprints
  • Two (2) years or more of experience installing, trouble shooting and repairing heavy equipment
  • Experience with fabrication, cutting with a torch, and welding with an arc welder
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • A combination of higher education and experience will be taken into consideration
  • Eligible to legally work in the United States without employer sponsorship
  • Willing and able to work a 10-hour rotating schedule which will include nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing and able to work on an emergency call-in basis as required
  • Ability to work as part of a team and deliver value to the team
  • Willingness and ability to cross-train to learn new jobs and skills
