THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN PLEASANT GROVE, CA

SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting the company’s safety manager with the overall environmental and safety programs including GISO Title 8, Title 22, and related compliance training. This position requires frequent travel to numerous store locations to conduct training and compliance audits. Other duties may be assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Environmental

  • Train managers, supervisors, and employees on Hazardous Waste compliant subjects.
  • Conduct frequent shop audits to identify and report environmental violations to supervisors with solutions. Monitor compliance of manifests and other documents related to hazardous waste generation.

Safety

  • Conduct frequent formal and informal safety audits of assigned store areas and report violations and recommendations to correct findings to the store manager/supervisor.
  • Train all new employees on OSHA and Environmental related subjects.
  • Inspect Division’s vehicle fleet for safety compliance.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or four years related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient at Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Must know basic algebra.
  • To perform this job successfully, the coordinator must be able to conduct effective training in a variety of compliance subjects for managers, supervisors, and employees in Environmental and OSHA related subjects. This individual must be able to properly develop training lesson plans and have working knowledge of Power Point and Excel programs. Good presentation skills for large and small groups needed for this position. The coordinator must be able to read and interpret and have a good understanding of both Federal and State Environmental and OSHA regulations. Must have the ability to effectively write reports and compliance required plans. Must be able to successfully interpret and follow oral and written instructions. Some weekend work may be needed. This position reports directly to the company safety manager.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid California driver’s license and a clean DMV driving report. Current HAZWOPER 40 hour certificate and Forklift Training certificate a plus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

COMPENSATION

Pay Range: $27.00 - $30.00 Hourly

Pay Range Dependent on Knowledge, Skills, and Ability.
