Atlantic Handling Systems is looking for a highly motivated and driven outside sales professional to work with customers in industrial establishments to design and sell material handling products and systems which include but are not limited to conveyors, storage rack, shelving, modular offices, mezzanines, wire partitions, and cleaning equipment. This position will also have management responsibilities for the day-to-day operations of the sales and support staff.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads based on information from business directories, industry ads, trade shows, internet websites and other sources.
  • Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to expand business opportunities.
  • Generates and presents quotations and performs customer presentations. Solicits orders, follows up on leads and talks with customers by phone and in person.
  • Surveys regular and prospective customers' facilities and recommends material handling products and systems; may work with sales/engineering staff to develop and communicate material handling solutions.
  • Establishes and maintains extensive knowledge of material handling products offered; also obtains knowledge of competitor's products specifications, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Keeps in regular contact with existing customers to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. May investigate customer service issues with deliveries, installations, etc.
  • Works with inside sales staff to log account activities, file customer credit inquiries and to keep customer database up to date.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers and customers. Investigates and resolves customer problems and complaints as needed.
  • Engages with local community, business, and trade organizations to network and promote the company.
Management Duties:
  • Oversees day-to-day operations, establishes goals and metrics with senior leadership, and executes a plan to achieve goals. Develops, implements, and maintains budget and resource allocation plans.
  • Develops and executes a strategic plan to grow revenue, grow customer base, and grow customer satisfaction.
  • Reviews and improves organizational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivated work environment, and implementing innovative changes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or at least five years of related experience. Material handling industry, engineering, or general business experience preferred. Some knowledge of material handling products and applications a plus. Strong leadership skills/experience required.
  • Must have a passion for sales, be self-motivated and driven toward success.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills required as well as mechanical aptitude.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Internet Explorer required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, good driving history and be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
