The Neil Jones Food Company is looking for a Sales & Marketing Assistant at our corporate headquarters in Vancouver, WA. The Neil Jones Food Company processes superior quality, fresh packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. With headquarters in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 35 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.


Summary
: Responsible for handling commercial and noncommercial/USDA bid solicitations and coordinating execution of “deliverables” as necessary under contracts and agreements. This position will also support owners and sales department as necessary to continue to grow the business and support our customer base. This position reports directly to the Global Director of Sales and Marketing. This is a non-exempt position.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Notify senior management of all USDA bid solicitations, coordinate bid pricing accurately, sometimes with other internal departments, and ensure successful fulfillment of contracts and good relationships with the Solicitor.
  • Process other bids from Broker and Sales team network as they come in. Doing this accurately and as prescribed in quarterly price list.
  • Act on behalf of the Sales Management in the collection and dissemination of information.
  • Assists in Sales & Marketing activities as may be required by food shows, sampling, travel/meeting accommodations, and point of sale needs.
  • Coordinate and manage a variety of simple to complex projects, produce reports, and maintain files as necessary.


Requirements
:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree or some college preferred.
  • At least 2 – 3 years of sales, pricing, or marketing experience; accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills in Excel and PeopleSoft, or other ERP system and detail oriented – able to work within a narrow margin of error.
  • Intermediate analytical and math skills – able to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule during the fresh pack season, typically July through September.


Compensation:

The hiring wage range is $20 - $24, based on experience and qualifications.
