SAMPLE FACILITATOR

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Sample Facilitator is responsible for managing orders and inventory for Decor Business sample equipment to maintain excellent sample turnaround times. The position is located at the Cedar Hill plant in Union, SC. Travel may be required to other locations as needed (most often to Milliken Headquarters in Spartanburg).

Responsibilities will include generating SAP orders from sample requests. The sample facilitator will handle receiving, issuing, and maintaining accurate inventory for developmental and production yarns related to sampling. Other duties include tracking sample status and performance as well as performing labeling, cutting, and shipping duties for sample orders and related business needs. Additional or modified responsibilities as determined by the business.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production Order Management Examples
Convert design requests to production orders for warp beams and woven fabrics
Enter sample orders and create sample packets for the sample operators
Schedule and coordinate execution of samples with technicians
Publish sample sheets and run data with design and development teams
Communicate with design and development to resolve minor issues and keep sample process flowing
Communicate with plant development resources to prioritize and schedule samples

Inventory Management Examples
Perform scheduled cycle counts for sample yarns and rectifies inventory
Consume raw materials to sample orders
Receive/label sample yarns and transport packages to the sample area
Communicate with vendors as necessary on shipments (deliveries, labeling, etc.)
Document new sample materials in excel tables that extend to design requests
Assist with yarn tabs for maintain color palette for design team

Sample Disposition
Follow up and report on status of sample orders and projects
Facilitate packaging and shipping for sample goods
Create batch #’s and enter STO’s for shipped goods
Perform visual inspection of goods as required (yarn, fabrics)
Operate rolling table to cut and sort rolls
Performing cutting and labeling for submitting samples for design review
Coordinate with labs to facilitate testing and interpret test results

Job/Skill Requirements
Comprehend verbal and written instructions
Communicate with development and design to resolve technical issues
Proficiency in Outlook and Excel
Self-motivated individual looking to improve new processes in a fast-paced environment
Ability to learn and execute intermediate SAP transactions
Ability to receive PIV certification and maintain license (forklift, pallet jack, doff truck)
Visual ability to inspect material, correctly label yarn and fabric, work in SAP program
Communication skills to interface with all levels in the development process
Basic mathematical ability (for example, to estimate pounds of yarn used in an order)
Familiarity with basic textile terminology (experience in yarn or weave plant) is desired
Open and flexible to potential travel to other Milliken locations

Physical Requirements
Routinely lifting yarn packages weighing 8-15 pounds
Bending to put objects on low shelving or lifting overhead to place yarn in shelving
Moving yarn pin trucks to relocate yarn
Lifting fabric rolls over 50 pounds on occasion
PIV Operation: pallet jack, forklift
Occasionally strapping or boxes to pallet for shipments

QUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED

Experience working in Manufacturing
Comprehend verbal and written instructions
