The Role

Reporting to the Scheduling Manager you will coordinate daily activities of Company’s pipeline, product imports, and barges with the refinery, terminals, and contracted operator. As part of your specific responsibilities, in the following areas, you will:


  • Manage inventory levels and resupply planning for assigned refined petroleum products – gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, and ethanol.
  • Coordinate and schedule the use of assigned transportation assets – pipelines, barges, and/or ships.
  • Coordinate with the trading department and customs brokers to import refined petroleum products.
  • Manage relationships with 3rd party terminal operators and customers.
  • Provide inventory and accounting support to scheduling activities - reconcile inventories, book transactions, and pay invoices as needed.
  • Participate in emergency drills and act as member of Company’s Oil Spill Response Group.
  • Provide relief scheduling coverage as needed. Assumes responsibilities designated by the Scheduling Manager in his/her absence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The Requirements

To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the Scheduler opportunity, you will have:

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in maritime, business, engineering or related field is desired.
  • Three to five years’ experience in the petroleum industry with duties directly related to transport of petroleum in bulk
  • Previous experience in planning and scheduling petroleum pipeline, ship and/or barge movements desired.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, good mathematics skills, competent in use of computers.
  • A valid driver’s license because:
    • Frequent driving to terminal and barge locations is required.
    • May require field work at terminals and on barges
    • Neighbor island travel required.
