Winston Knolls Education Group is a Illinois nonprofit organization providing special education services and programming, and has an immediate opening for a School Social Worker or Clinical Therapist at The Winston Knolls School at Hoffman Estates Campus a non-public special education school, approved by the Illinois State Board of Education, providing educational services to children (ages 3-21) diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and other related disorders such as emotional / behavioral disorders, developmental disabilities and other health impairments.

Job Summary

School Social Worker or Therapist provides counseling and help to students, parents, and school staff to address the psychological and social well-being of the students. The School Social Worker or Therapist will also work with outside support services or agencies to assist those students who need help in their personal lives.

School Social Worker or Therapist Responsibilities:

· Providing counseling sessions, treatment plans, or workshops as necessary and establishing prevention programs and intervention plans.

· Prepare Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA), and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).

· Attend IEP meetings when appropriate.

· Assist with behavior reporting requirements.

· Providing consultation to teachers and administrators with behavioral challenges by communicating with students to find the causes of their distress.

· Providing information, when appropriate, to outside support services to help students’ parents with economic, emotional, or physical issues.

· Communicating with parents, teachers, and administrators to understand students' challenges.

· Maintaining case files and reports to track students' progress and problems.

. Up to 15 hours per week

· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

· A valid license as a School Social Worker or Therapist, LSW or LPC in the State of Illinois.

· Experience preferred but not required, experience working with special needs students is a plus.
