The role:

We are seeking a highly self-motivated Scientist to be part of our Molecular Assays team. Our mission is to develop assays that accelerate biological understanding and enable drug discovery with a focus on developing new molecular and cellular tools to measure pathway modulation. The team serves as a central point to develop new assays and assay platforms, in particular ELISA and ELISA-like immunoassays, by leveraging the wide array of antibodies developed at Cell Signaling Technology (CST).

The ideal individual contributor candidate has passion and experience with bench science and developing assays.

Here's What You Will Do:

• Independently research activities and be able to transfer expertise to other team members.
• The ideal candidate will have a good grasp of currently used assay techniques.
• Independently design complex experiments, analyze and report results
• Collaborate with CST colleagues and with thought leaders to support studies

Who you are and what you bring to the team:

• MS degree in a biological science (e.g. molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry or biotechnology)
• At least 5 years of experience or BS with at least 10 years of experience.
• Extensive, hands-on experience with cell lysate preparation, molecular biology techniques, and cell culture is required.
• Working well in a team environment is a MUST!
• Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail is needed.
• Ability to multi-task effectively and manage multiple priorities at one time in a fast-paced environment is essential.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, are a must for this position, both within the team and in matrix teams within CST.
• Familiarity with programs such as Microsoft Excel and graphing programs is needed.

Required Qualifications, plus:

• Previous pharma/biotech experience is a plus.
• Experience with protein conjugation, antibody screening, and ELISA development.
• Knowledge of immune biology and molecular biology of antibodies.
• Experience with Tableau, JIRA, and working with complex Excel files (building Excel macros), or other programming skills is a plus.
• Worked with automation platforms/automated liquid handlers.

• Work area can be filled with collaborative discussion
• Work area may have noise from equipment (refrigerator, freezer, etc.)
• Work environment- Standard laboratory environment with instrumentation and nearby team members
• Physical requirements- employee must be able to sit/stand throughout the day
