SSNL Concessions Attendant

This position will provide the public with great customer service at one of our facilities which may include; Lakefly Café, Pollock Community Water Park or the Children’s Amusement Center. The position will include preparing food and drink items following proper sanitation guidelines, handling and accounting for collections of money, selling zoo souvenirs or amusement ride tickets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Sell zoo souvenirs, concessions or amusement ride tickets (75%):
  • Excellent guest service skills; verbal communication skills and listening skills with ability to take food and beverage orders and fill those orders correctly.
  • Ensure proper procedures for handling and accounting for collections of money.
  • Operate a cash drawer.
  • Serves food and beverage items in correct proportions, following proper sanitation guidelines and following all guidelines set forth by the food and health safety guidelines at the Health department.
Perform clean-up duties in the stand to maintain the quality appearance of the work area, including cleaning and storing equipment. (25%)
  • Keep work area clean throughout the work day as well as opening and closing duties.
  • Keep stands stocked full of inventory and let manager know when items are low and need to be ordered.

Employees will work various hours from 9:30am to 8:30 pm up to 40 hours per week including weekends and holidays.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work at the entrance gate collecting daily fees, monitoring seasonal passes, basic concession food preparation and sales. Ensure proper procedures for handling and accounting for collections money.
  • Sell zoo souvenirs and concessions during working hours while ensuring proper procedures for handling and accounting for collections money.
  • Sell amusement ride tickets and concessions during working hours while ensuring proper procedures for handling and accounting for collections of money.
  • Accurately balances cash/checks/debit/credit cards against register receipts.
  • Operates a cash drawer in receiving/reviewing/counting and disbursing money/checks/credit card payments and ensures correct payment and change.
  • Report to work at scheduled time with regular and predictable attendance.
  • Greets guests approaching location, receives food and beverage orders from guests.
  • Serves food and beverage items in correct proportions, following proper sanitation guidelines.
  • Acquaints guests with items for sale and uses suggestive selling techniques.
  • Performs clean-up duties in the stand to maintain the quality appearance of the work area, including cleaning and storing equipment.
  • Properly records all transactions via the point of sale system and informs guests of the amounts owed, includes all cash and credit card transactions.
  • Collects the proper money for food and beverage items; processes credit card or determines correct change for guests.
  • Accounts for all transactions; maintains accurate cash count and balance banks at end of shift
  • Participates in stand closing procedures; prepares stand sheet, balances inventory to cash, and closes out system with appropriate reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Washes and sanitizes equipment.
  • Prepares food products in stand according to Company standards and specifications.
  • Shows flexibility by rotating to other stands when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications: The ability to read and write, follow oral and written instructions, ability to conduct work in a safe manner in accordance with established safety rules and procedures, possess excellent customer service skills that lead to a positive experience to the customers, ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds, and the ability to work outside in Wisconsin's climate.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
  • Prior experience in receipt of monies and concessions helpful.
  • Work permit, if applicable.
  • Excellent guest service skills; verbal communication skills and listening skills with ability to take food and beverage orders and fill those orders correctly.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of cash handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of personal computers and office software.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles.
  • Ability to maintain effective relations with the public and co-workers.
  • Ability to operate concession equipment.
  • Ability to multitask, establish and meet work deadlines, and maintain a high level of productivity despite distraction.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

May have exposure to high volume noise.
