City of Fort Atkinson: Seasonal Parks Maintenance Staff
Summary of Job
Seasonal Parks Maintenance Staff perform a variety of tasks and labor work as assigned by the Parks Supervisor and Crewleaders within the City of Fort Atkinson Parks & Recreation Department. Seasonal staff are employed from May/June thru August working up to 40 hours per week in the areas of Parks and Recreation. The normal hours of work are 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. A valid Wisconsin driver’s license is required.
Responsibilities
1. Cuts grass, weeds, and brush using power and hand tools.
2. Cleans and maintains public grounds and equipment, including pickup of litter and trash, raking leaves and debris, sweeping surfaces, and moving equipment.
3. Cleans and maintains public buildings/shelters, including replenishing stock, cleaning bathroom fixtures, and washing windows.
4. Maintains clean, attractive, and safe parks areas including lawns, athletic fields, natural areas, playgrounds, picnic areas, restrooms, parking lots, and pavilions.
5. Moves and sets up for park functions requiring moving tables, bleachers, and chairs for concerts and special events.
6. Performs athletic ballfield field preparation and maintenance.
7. Collects garbage, refuse, and trash.
8. Operates City vehicles and equipment in a safe manner.
Qualifications
Must be 16 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
Must possess the strength and stamina to physically labor outdoors under all climate conditions.
