SECURITY ARMED SPECIAL RESPONSE TEAM LEADER

JOB SUMMARY:

Security Special Response Team (SRT) are responsible for providing both highly visible and covert professional armed security to the Property to complement existing security programs. SRTs act as a visual deterrent, intervene and respond to all levels of security and potential emergency needs including acts or threats of violence, emergencies, and life safety threats. They mitigate incidents through early detection and/or disruption of criminal conduct or other undesirable activity. All SRT duties are to be performed in accordance with enterprise and property policies, practices and procedures. This position requires specialized training, to include regular firearms training, and rigorous physical conditioning standards.

The SRT Supervisor will assist and liaise effectively with Caesars Entertainment Security personnel, law enforcement agencies and local partners as requested and will perform all duties in accordance with Caesars Entertainment policies and procedures, and within the realm of the Caesars Entertainment mission statement.

The SRT Supervisor will ensure proper deployment strategies and monitor performance of SRT members under span of control.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

At the direction of the Security Response Team Manager , the SRT Supervisor (Team Leaders) will maintain a high visibility uniformed or, as operational needs may require, covert presence and be responsible for the following:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Proactively identify and respond to emergency situations including in-progress acts of violence, crisis, weapons incidents, explosive incidents, natural disasters and a wide range of issues posing a hazard to lives and/or property using the appropriate escalation off force up to and including armed response by following established protocol.
  • Assist in emergency situations by securing the scene to prevent further loss or damage, advise personnel of threats and potential threats, summon emergency responders to the incident, and initiate and conduct evacuation procedures.
  • Conduct covert surveillance operations.
  • Render appropriate first aid to injured persons and follow established protocol for reporting injuries.
  • Safeguard and maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, and weapons.
  • Ability to respond to direction and/or orders from supervisory personnel, especially in the context of an active shooter, assault or other similar situation.
  • Lead organization with methods and actions that are ethical and in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies.
  • Identify compliance risks and take actions necessary to eliminate or minimize risks.
  • Champion, within the organization, a commitment to honesty, integrity, and responsible corporate behavior.
  • Create a compliance culture within the organization and foster an environment where team members feel comfortable reporting potential violations or misconduct.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2 years of related creditable experience; as a law enforcement officer or through service as a military police officer or on a military special operations team as an operator specializing in counter-terrorism or dignitary protection or in other work such as a Special/Security Police Officer (SPO) that provided the required knowledge and skills of law enforcement operations, practices, techniques, and judicious use of force, to include firearms.
  • Graduation from an accredited law enforcement academy or comparable course of instruction.
  • Experience in making judgments based on the application of experience, training, directions, rules, regulations, and laws and involved in maintaining order and protecting life and property.
  • Documented experience in Use of Force decision making in an armed public facing capacity.
  • A working knowledge in the area of investigations; possess investigative and analytical skills.
  • Must be tactful, maintain confidences, and foster an ethical work environment, prevent inappropriate behavior by co-workers, handle all situations honestly.
  • Able to communicate clearly with staff, management, and the public through oral and written word.
  • Must be able to assume a role of authority as necessary in a high-risk crisis, exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues, review facts, weigh options, delegate responsibility, and empower associates to make decisions, provide constructive feedback.
  • Must show respect and be able to adapt to different values, cultures, or backgrounds when dealing with difficult people or situations. Build and maintain long term associations based on trust, help others.
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Must attend and pass all recurring mandatory legal, tactical, defensive tactics, first aid, CPR, firearms and other training as a condition of continued employment.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Set an example and be a role model / leader for all Security personnel through observance of all departmental policies and procedures.
  • Must be “team centered” and promote a positive work environment. Ability to lead and mentor a small, cohesive team.
  • Must work well with other departments and management as necessary.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Neat, professional appearance with good personal hygiene and may wear the appropriate attire as required for the assignment.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Candidates are required to successfully complete the required training, maintain an appropriate level of physical fitness, firearms proficiency, and tactical training. Subject to successful completion of all parts of required training
  • Must pass the physical and written testing of the Las Vegas Region Security Academy (C.O.D.E.S., Defensive Tactics, Legal Issues, Handcuffing, Tactical Communications, Use of Force, Report Writing, Searching Subjects, Emergency Response, Ethics, and Expandable Baton) within the first ninety days of employment.
  • Must maintain annual certification in firearms and other specialized gear as mandated by federal, state or local law.
  • Must be able to obtain and possess a Nevada Gaming License
  • Must have a current and valid Nevada Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Ability to physically engage with a person who is threatening others and the ability to accurately handle and shoot a firearm.
  • Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations and be able to make rational decisions when handling guest and employee issues.
  • Must have courage and capacity to prohibit a SRT Team Member from acting unlawful and outside of policy.
  • Must be able to give court testimony when necessary and write detailed reports. The SRT Supervisor responds to visual and aural cues, and must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to move from location to location at appropriate speeds
  • Ability to carry or move another individual, including one who may be injured
  • Must be able to physically restrain individuals when condition of arrest exists.
  • Must be able to work and stand inside and outside, sometimes in heat in excess of 115 degrees, or cold as low as 10 degrees.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip, carry heavy loads and maneuver quickly on level surfaces, as well as, up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds. Must be able to push or pull up to 150 pounds.
  • Must be able to see and, also, remember the specific details of incidents and persons.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
