JOB SUMMARY:

Perform a variety of security and safety related functions including the safeguarding of employees, patients, visitors, physicians, and property. Provide a visible deterrence to crime and prohibited or suspicious activities in public and non-public areas such as the main hospital, outlying buildings, grounds, parking areas, stairways, mechanical areas, and patient treatment areas. Respond quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations. Work with law enforcement in the investigation/resolution of incidents that take place on hospital property or involving hospital employees. Escort persons and assist staff when necessary. Be alert and conscientious of behavior or activities that could result in injury to a person or damage to or loss of property. Complete detailed written reports regarding incidents that occur on hospital property or involve hospital staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

2. Must be at least 18 years old.

3. Must pass a background check.

4. Valid California security guard license within 3 months of hire.

5. Previous security-related work experience preferred.

6. Must be levelheaded and respond quickly in stressful situations.

7. Proficient written and oral communication skills in the English Language.

8. Working knowledge of basic security techniques.
