The following position is to join our Corporate or Research Center Team:

Senior Analyst, Corporate Strategy & Development

The Corporate Strategy & Development (“CS&D”) group is responsible for shaping the future strategic direction of the company in addition to identifying and vetting potential M&A targets for the company. CS&D reports directly to RTX’s President & CEO and the team serves as advisors to senior leadership on the highest value issues and opportunities facing the company.

This position will be responsible for supporting a wide range of M&A and strategy projects. The candidate must be a highly analytical, structured thinker and must have the ability to take initiative, set strategic priorities, take ownership of assigned projects/tasks and independently drive for results.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to acquisitions, divestitures, other financial transactions and strategic opportunities by assisting with financial modeling, presentation development and due diligence execution
  • Monitor and evaluate acquisition targets and key peers including tracking recent events, analyzing financial statements and preparing earnings summaries
  • Support portfolio analysis, which involves assessing capabilities and financial metrics against strategy and market opportunities
  • Assist in the preparation of senior-level briefings, which involves summarizing and communicating insights at the right level from detailed analyses
  • Balance multiple projects while providing clear thinking and excellent attention to detail in a dynamic work environment
  • Build productive relationships with RTX business units including their respective finance and strategy functions to understand their businesses and strategic objectives

Required Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned projects, handle ambiguity and independently drive for results
  • Creativity and strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills (prioritization, critical thinking, hypothesis creation, etc.). Ability to think pragmatically – not just theoretically – and drive execution of concepts
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Outstanding multi-tasking and teamwork capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong ability/experience in developing relationships; able to develop credibility and earn respect with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to quickly identify, understand and manage organizational impacts of business strategy and process change.
  • Must be a US Citizen/US Person

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior transactional experience (at an investment bank or in a corporate development role) or strategy work (at a top-tier consulting firm or in a corporate strategy role)
  • Familiarity with financial data services (S&P Capital IQ, Factset, Bloomberg)
  • Aerospace and defense domain knowledge
