JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Bus Driver FLSA: Non-Exempt

Schedule: Part-Time

Department: Senior Center

Accountability: Senior Center Director/Executive Director

Summary:

Responsible for operating transportation vehicles in accordance with organizational activities and events. This includes but is not limited to transporting members to and from the Center at Spring Street, day trips, and other center-related activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Complete pre-trip inspection of vehicle before leaving each trip.
• Works with center staff to verify changes on Bus Transportation Sheet.
• Assists participants entering or leaving vehicle when necessary.
• Safely operate wheelchair lift when necessary.
• Reports any unusual incidents concerning participants to senior center staff.
• Calls center staff if participant is not at pick-up point (610-367-2313).
• Checks interior of vehicle at the end of a run for any forgotten items. Report items to center staff.
• Report vehicle maintenance problems to the Center Director and Executive Director.
• Keeps record of mileage, gas usage, other information pertaining to vehicle use and maintenance.
• Attends training and information sessions relevant to the position or the agency at the request of, and/or the approval of the Executive Director.
• Performs such other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the Center Director and/or Executive Director.
• Obey all traffic laws. In the instance law enforcement is involved, report to the Center Director and Executive Director.

Physical Demands:

• Notwithstanding applicable ADA accommodations, while performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to: sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
• Ability to help others use emergency exits if needed.
• Ability to drive to various work settings is required.
• Ability to lift 50lb occasionally.
• Willingness to submit to random drug testing.

Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid and up-to-date Class B CDL required and passenger endorsement.

Pay: $15.00 per hour

• Monday to Friday

• Split shift

Experience:

• Commercial driving: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Passenger Endorsement (Required)
• CDL B (Required)
