Join their team in Pocatello, ID as a Senior Process Control Engineer / Analyst responsible for plant instrumentation, control systems, and electrical/electronic equipment as well as other associated equipment. You will work directly with end users to resolve problems and oversee/supervise the repair and maintenance of process control systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Works on complex problems, projects, or tasks. Analyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems and devices or modifies procedures to process data and solve problems. Serves as the technical lead for the team and customer support problems.
  • Designs and programs logic to accomplish process control changes within the plant. Designs new screen displays, performs installations, repairs, upgrades, and troubleshooting for software and hardware related to operational process control. Provide installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance for all of the DCS and PLC infrastructures at the locations.
  • Performs work needed to maintain or expand control networks and logic used to ensure redundancy on control systems for the plant. Monitor and remedy problems with process control servers and clients. Set up computers to perform the server or client functions. Works with the IT department to set standards, work on projects, and help implement business or IT solutions.
  • Provide server administration for local servers. Provide application administration and support, where applicable. Assess problems/resolutions to determine where improvements can be made, or trends identified.
  • Maintains up-to-date records and documentation for all hardware, software programs, and control wiring. This includes maintaining DCS and PLC hardware cabinets and racks, as well as software and hardware revision control and database backup data. Participate in technical project teams to enhance the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of technical support.
  • Build and maintain hardware inventory. Build and maintain IT documentation for areas supported. Maintain current knowledge of information systems technology. Make recommendations where applicable.
  • Assists in the training of electricians and plant operators. Training will include facilities' DCS and PLC systems.

Qualifications:

  • AS or BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Networking, Information Systems, or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in process control design and application in an industrial setting
  • Experience with configuration of DCS or PLC logic used for process control
  • Knowledge of continuous process controls in an industrial manufacturing plant environment. Ability to understand how to use and program PID control loops for process control and use advanced PID concepts such as feed-forward control
  • Experience in computer networking for fiber optic and wireless systems applications.
  • Familiar with primary sensing instruments and control devices
  • Must be proficient in Boolean and Analog instrumentation operation
  • Must have a working knowledge of network architectures including TCP/IP, PROFIBUS and MODBUS, and VLAN.
  • Must be proficient in computer architecture including client/server, domain, firewall, backups, Raid, and VMWare.
  • Proficient in software deployment including Windows 10, Windows Server
  • Must be detail orientated with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient MS Office skills
  • Ability to travel <10%

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
