Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is the medical group managing The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center’s outpatient physician clinics. Due to our continued growth to provide health care to the Columbus area we are currently expanding our leadership team and seeking a Senior Director of Access and Capacity Management.


Acts as the overall strategic leader of physician access initiatives by tracking performance, collaborating with revenue cycle to maximize collections, ensuring registration and billing practices are in line with patient-centered approach to care, oversees initiatives in outpatient registration, pre-registration, quality management, pre-authorizations, pre-determinations, insurance verification, centralized scheduling, decentralized scheduling, financial counseling and international/nationwide patient access processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, or related field, or in a discipline related to the area supervised; Master’s degree in a related field desired;
  • Considerable demonstrated success in a progressively responsible management capacity including direct experience in the occupation(s) supervised; strategic or long-range planning experience.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and proven inter-personal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated managerial skills in a complex environment.
  • Proven ability to lead change and function as a member of the executive team are essential.
  • Must be self-directed / self-motivated; must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to: perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure; accept responsibility for the direction, control and planning of an one’s own work; work independently.

About our Position:

Serves as a key promoter and strategic leader of Ambulatory Access, which strives to exceed the needs and expectations of its internal and external customers. Work collaboratively with executive and clinical leadership to plan and execute ambulatory improvement initiatives focused on ambulatory patient access. Exercises leadership in motivating direct and indirect reports, physicians, administrators, managers and staff to incorporate vision, process change and strategic planning into patient and referring physician centered ambulatory access and service excellence, encouraging creative thinking and innovation, influencing others toward a spirit of service excellence and designing and implementing new or cutting edge programs/processes.
